Curtis Stone

Curtis Stone, age 68, of Baxley passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Stone was born October 24, 1948 in Appling County to the late Bernace Stone and the late Ruby Driggers Stone. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Stone was a retired heavy machine operator and was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Stone.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Smith Stone of Baxley; daughters, Renee Stone and Tonya (Brian) Turner both of Baxley, Amy White and Melissa Dean both of Odum; sons, Timmy (JoAnna) White of Offerman and Hyman White of Odum; sister, Barbara Ann Brewer of Baxley; and brother, Wesley (Debbie) Stone of Baxley; Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Holland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

Active pallbearers are Michael Stone, Devon Turner, Brian Turner, Dylan Lee, Craig Stone, and Barry Sharpe.

Honorary pallbearers are Terry Todd, Joe Lightsey, Pebo Perry, Craig Scott, Kenny Stone, & Ellis Stone, Jr.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at Asbury United Methodist Church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
