Gene D. Wilkinson

Gene D. Wilkinson, age 88, of Marietta passed away at his residence on April 6, 2024.

Mr. Wilkinson was born August 1, 1935 in Sanford, Florida to the late Judge Samuel Aaron Wilkinson and the late Ruth Ensminger Wilkinson. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was a Mason.  Gene was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Marrietta and was retired from BellSouth and Cobb County.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Levonia “Lee” Wilkinson; sons, Gene David Wilkinson, Jr. and Dean Alan Wilkinson; daughter, Lyndia Carpenter; and grandchildren, Katlynn Wilkinson, Patrick H. Wilkinson, and Heather Wilkinson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home at 12:00 pm with Rev. Philip Vestal officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 until time of service.

Interment will follow in Antioch Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.
