Edwin Holt Riddle

Edwin Holt Riddle, age 84, of Baxley died Friday, October 4, 2019 at his residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice.

Mr. Riddle was born August 8, 1935 in Appling County to the late Jesse Edwin Riddle and the late Geneva Davis Riddle. He was a Retired Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy having served in the Vietnam War.  Mr. Riddle was also a retired mechanic and a member of Riverside Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Fern Morris Riddle and sister, Wanda Jean Riddle Carter.

Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Clark of Baxley; brother, Richard Riddle of Baxley; and grandson, Bobby Clark of Baxley.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Justin McLellan and Rev. Andy Williams officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with full military honors.

Active pallbearers were Jason Carter, Rex Carter, Jake Carter, Adam Riddle, Bud Lett, & Chris Floyd.

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Stone, Bill Tharpe, Southern Care Hospice and Altamaha Home Healthcare.

Musical selections were rendered by Glynda Reeves.

Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
