Orena Hyers

Orena Hyers , age 88, of Townsend passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Twin Oaks Convalesent Center in Alma, Georgia.

Mrs. Hyers was born February 20, 1931 in Jeff Davis County to the late Quitman Hughes and the late Frances Thompson Hughes.  She was a member of Shellman Bluff Baptist Church where she served as pianist for many years and was a member of the choir and retired from Kroger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Durell L. Hyers.

Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law, Mony & Lynn Hyers and Jimmy & Jan Hyers both of Baxley; sister Margaret Moore of Garden City; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren & great great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Shellman Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Harry Coursey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Shellman Bluff Baptist Church Music Department or the charity of choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
