Patricia Ann Covington

Patricia Ann Covington, age 81, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at The Pavilion.

Mrs. Covington was born February 11, 1937 in Jeff Davis to the late Homer Virgil Herrington and the late Winnie Merle Johnson Herrington. She was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church and was a homemaker and farmer.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Covington was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Louis Covington, Sr., sisters, Luda Herrington, Judy Herrington, Shirley Herrington and brothers, Pat Herrington, Kenneth Herrington and Richard Herrington.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley C. & Cecil Miles, Debra C. & Paul Edwards, Linda C. & Terry Altman all of Baxley; sons & daughters in law, Alton Louis, Jr. & Donna Covington of Surrency and Karl Wesley & Pam Covington of Baxley; sisters, Linda H. Wynkoop of Banner Elk, NC, Elaine H. Sikes of Jacksonville, FL, Janice H. Steis of Atlanta and Sadie H. Wright of Fernandina, FL; brothers, Tony Herrington of Baxley, Terry Herrington of Phoenix City, AL and Danny Herrington of Brunswick. Thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hutcheson & Elder Jerry Lightsey officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

 Interment will follow in Altamaha Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Nickolas Covington, Adam Covington, Joshua Altman, Clint Herrington, Cal Herrington and Chris Covington.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
