Sharon Blaxton Stone

Sharon Blaxton Stone, age 66, of Baxley died Monday, June 17, 2019 under the care of Community Hospice.

Mrs. Stone was born April 29, 1953 in Toombs County to the late Herbert & Orethia Faircloth Blaxton.  She was a member of Melton’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Ronnie “Little Rock” Stone & a sister, Rhonda Blaxton.

Survivors include her children, Aimee & Justin Hooks and Joshua & Lydia Stone all of Baxley; sister, Brenda Gruenwald of Claxton; brother & sister in law, Wayne & Joy Blaxton of Peoria, Arizona; sisters in law & brothers in law, Wendy & Alan Johnson of Baxley & Debbie & Royce Skinner of Richmond Hill;  grandchildren, Carson Hand, Addison Hooks and Emma & Bailee Stone. Children-in-love, Krista & Jeffery Carter & grandchildren-in-love, Maggie & Sophie Carter & several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Danita Knowles officiating.  

Interment will follow in Melton’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brent Johnson, Marc Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Phil Humphrey, Grady Blaxton & Logan Blaxton.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Melton’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Melton’s Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 136 Altamaha School Road, Baxley, Ga. 31513.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
