Billy Joe Carter

Billy Joe Carter, age 69, of Baxley passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the Bacon County Hospital.

Mr. Carter was born July 9, 1952 in Bacon County to the late Dewitt Carter and the late Lucille Nail Carter.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was the Assistant Manager at Ace Hardware for more than 30 years.  Mr. Carter was a member of the Amateur Pool Association and an avid car show attendee.

Survivors include his fiancé, Betty Ann Anderson; step-son, Sean Solomon (Edelia) Anderson; brother, Roger Carter; and step grandsons, Vincent Solomon Anderson and Calvin Kennedy Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Gardner and Rev. Charles Carter officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
