Caylee Michelle Merritt

Caylee Michelle Merritt, age 15, of Hazlehurst, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Caylee was born February 6, 2008 in Eastman, Georgia. She was a student at Dodge County High School and loved attending church.   

Survivors include her parents, Natalie Merritt and Brent (Shannon) Merritt; brother, Caleb Merritt; maternal grandparents, Rev. Ricky & Lisa Gilmore; paternal grandparents, Rev. Alvin & Tammy Merritt; maternal great grandmother, Judy Brown; paternal great grandmother, Annie Merritt; Uncles & aunts, Brandon & Heather Merritt, Jeremiah Allison, Rusty & Ashtein Peacock, John Carver; great uncle, Wesley Merritt. Several cousins and her fur baby, Tildy also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Hazlehurst Church of God with Rev. Ashley Tyree and Rev. Stan Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.   

Active pallbearers will be members of Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shop with A Cop c/o Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office Chaplain.
