Dr. Y. R. Reddy

Dr. Y. R. Reddy, age 82, of Baxley died Monday, June 14, 2021 at his residence under the care of Regency Hospice.

Dr. Reddy was born July 1, 1938 in Polavaram, Andhra Pradesh, India to the late Y. Anniah Reddy and the late Y. Lakshmamma Reddy. He received his PhD from I. I. T. in Bombay, India and Post Doctorate from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. He was the president of Reddy Buffalo Pump Inc. and a member of N.F.P.A, Hydraulic Institute, and I.E.E.E. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Wyatt Smith Reddy.

Survivors include his wife, Y. Uma Reddy of Baxley; sons, Sharath Reddy and Jay Reddy both of Baxley; and four grandchildren, Usha Reddy, Deve Reddy, Harrison Reddy, and Sophia Reddy.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 8:30 until 11:00 a.m. at Yenamala Reddy Family Resting Place (4310 Blackshear Highway, Baxley, Georgia 31513).

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
