Earline G. Poole

Earline Griffis Poole, age 89, of Baxley passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020.

Mrs. Poole was born February 11, 1931 in Jesup to the late Lawrence Griffis and the late Bonnie Jean Murray Griffis. Before retiring, she worked at Miller’s Western Wear. Mrs. Poole was a member of First Baptist Church, the First Baptist Joy Group, the Pilot Club, Lions Club, Altamaha Fire Department, and the Young Farmers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Nelson Poole.

Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Harriette & Allen Hutchinson and Pamela & Charles Davis all of Baxley; a sister, Reba Leggett of Valdosta; two brothers, Glen Griffis of Jesup, and Larry Griffis of Lake City, Florida; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

A private family funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Chip Woodruff and Rev. Joe Ferguson officiating. A public graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Zack Griffis, Drake-Allen Carter, Jesse Brannen, Lane Hutchinson, Dalton Sellers, and Tycen Hutchinson.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Queen Ester Sunday school class of First Baptist Church, Randall and Cathy Branch, Mandy Hall, Colleen Thomas, and Brandy Bryant.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
