Eugene Rentz Obituary

Eugene Talmadge Rentz, age 87, of Baxley, died Friday, April 9, 2021 at his residence under the care of GHC Hospice surrounded by his family.

Mr. Rentz was born October 27, 1933 in Appling County to the late Coy Rentz and the late Averille Darsey Rentz.  He was a member of Memorial Free Will Baptist Church and attended Harmony Baptist Church.  He was a Farmer and was preceded in death by a son, Tim Rentz.  

Survivors include his wife of nearly 70 years, Betty Hall Rentz of Baxley; daughters & sons-in-law, Sharon & Charles Tyre and Teresa & Bill Parker all of Baxley; a son & daughter in law, Brad & Holley Rentz of Baxley. Grandchildren, Cooper Rentz, Madeline Rentz, Eric Fenn, Cory Fenn, Jason Tyre and Jordie Tyre, and great grandchildren, Anna Fenn, Aubrey Fenn, Jesse Fenn, Hannah Tyre, Hunter Tyre, Israel Tyre and Ryvre Tyre also survive.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Hutcheson and Rev. Sam Holland officiating.

Active Pallbearers will be Eric Fenn, Cory Fenn, Cooper Rentz, Jordie Tyre, Michael Crosby and Steve Crosby.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the graveside at Memorial Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to Alzheimer’s Association 1925 Century Blvd., NE Suite 10, Atlanta, Ga. 30345-3315.
