Eva (Johnson) Reese

Eva Johnson Reese, age 64, of Baxley, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Mrs. Reese was born May 26, 1959 in Appling County to the late Willie Johnson and the late Nellie Stone Johnson.  She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Reese was preceded in death by a son, Herman Hayes, Jr. and brothers, Eddie Johnson and Truman Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Reese of Baxley; daughter, Mandy Reynolds of Graham; sisters, Patricia (Dallas) Solomon of Graham and Diane (Jerry) Gruber of Baxley; brothers, Pete Johnson, Robert Johnson and Herman (Linda) Johnson all of Baxley and Bobby Johnson of Hazlehurst. Three grandchildren, Morgon, Megan, Makayla Reynolds and four great-grandchildren, Mykel, Ava, Emrick, and Evee; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Brown, Rev. Parker Roberts and Rev. Justin McLellan officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brent Stone, Chad Beach, Steven Stone, Travis Johnson, Bobby Gene Johnson and David Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery & Susan Turner, Scotty & Renee Turner, Allen & Amber Turner, Dennis & Susan Hopkins and all friends in attendance.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
