Henry G. "Buzzy" Baker, Jr.

Henry Grady “Buzzy” Baker, Jr., of Baxley, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the age of 83, with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Baker was born on April 10, 1939 to the late Henry Grady Baker, Sr. and Hulda Summerall Baker. He was retired from Plant Hatch, served in the Army National Guard, and was a member of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding his tractor, and repurposing old metal into art.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Rick Baker; one brother, Jim Baker; and two sisters, Ann Baker Curry, and Marsha Baker Branch.

Mr. Baker is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Barbara Baker; his daughters and sons-in-law, Broni & Chris Rentz, Mandi & Glynn Stone, and Julie & Pat Davidson; sister, Eleanor Baker Carter; brother & sister-in-law, Bill & Vickie Baker; and special niece, Katina (Shawn) Alexander.

Mr. Baker was a perfect papa to his seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Angela) Rentz, Krisann (Doug) Johnson, Chelsei (Jake) Norris, Cassi Trowell, Anna Davidson, James Davidson, and Josh Davidson; and seven great grandchildren, Adalynn, Lew, Abram, Ann, Henry, Beau, and Madison. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church with Rev. David Barber, Rev. Rick Brown, and Glynn Stone officiating and visitation starting one hour prior to time of service.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Rentz, Jody Carter, Jake Norris, Doug Johnson, Shawn Alexander, Corey Whitty, Brian Baker, and Beau Trowell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean & Karen Collins, Darrell & Susan Taylor, Richard & Kim Martin, Willie & Angie Tillman, Rusty Sears, Earl & Karen Yawn, and Comfort Care Hospice.
