J. E. Thornton Obituary

Johnie E. “J. E.” Thornton, age 77, of Baxley died Friday, January 22, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.

Mr. Thornton was born February 13, 1943 to the late James Leroy Thornton and the late Myrtle Copeland Thornton. He was a farmer and attended Consolation Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Anthony E. “Tony” Thornton of Jesup; brothers, Ben Thornton and Roger Thornton both of Jesup and Henry Thornton of Yulee, FL; and special friend Nova Deen Kicklighter of K’ville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Inurnment will be in the Piney Grove Church of God Cemetery in Wayne County.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
