Jacquelyn "Jackie" (Carter) Waters

Mrs. Jacquelyn “Jackie” Carter Waters, age 94, of Martinez, GA entered into rest
on Monday, February 27, 2023.
Jackie was born in Bacon County, GA and was a longtime resident of the
Augusta, GA area. She worked with Georgia Natural Gas and retired after 30+
years. Jackie was a member of the Gold Flames, Martinez Baptist Church and a
former member of Broad Street Baptist Church where she sang in the senior
choir. Jackie was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Family members include her sons: Keith Howell Waters (Leslie), and Terry
Wesley Waters (Debbie); grandchildren: Keith Mitchell Waters, Whitney Greene,
Becky Waters Vineyard, and Brandon M. Johnikin; great grandchildren: Evelyn
Vineyard, Nicholas Vineyard, Taylin Greene, Kyler Greene, and Linden Greene;
sisters: Darthalyn Hughes and Janice Carter. She was preceded in death by her
husband Howell Waters and her siblings Bobbie Carter and Eugene Carter.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the
chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Phillip Winsett officiating. The family
will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A second service will be Friday, March 3, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Red Oak Baptist
Church in Baxley, GA with Rev. Denny Waters and Rev. Steve Hughes
officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the
church.
Interment will follow in the Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
