Janice (Tyre) Bush

Janice Tyre Bush, age 77, of Bristol passed away at her home on July 10, 2021. 

Mrs. Bush was born January 27, 1944 in Bristol to the late Louise Tyre and the late Ben Jasper Tyre. Before retiring, Mrs. Bush was a beautician. She was a lifetime member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist where she was a dedicated member of Piney Grove Women Active in Christ.  

Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Bush, by her brother, James Tyre, by her sister, Daphine Tyre, and by her granddaughter Candis Hersey.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Teresa and Dale Williamson of Bristol, Georgia, Terri and Jeff Buckhalter of Paducah, Kentucky, and Barbara and Ricky Hersey of Nicholls, Georgia; her son and daughter-in-law Tony and Kristin O’Steen of Surrency, Georgia also survive.  Mrs. Bush was loved by her many grandsons and granddaughters. She found great joy in her ten great grandchildren.  She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and James Harrell of Valdosta, Georgia. Two nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12, at 2:00 pm. at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Bristol, GA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons; Jared White, Marcus Smith, Ben Jasper O’Steen, Austin Buckhalter, Mckenley Hand, Campbell O’Steen and Tobias Hagins.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Piney Grove Women Active in Christ (Attention Denise Brannen 1944 Piney Grove Church Road Bristol, Georgia 31518) and Hospice Satilla (808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501).

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
