Jo Lene Horne

Jo Lene Horne, age 76, of Baxley passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at Jeff Davis Hospital.

Ms. Horne was born August 21, 1944 in Appling County to the late Willie Addison Horne and the late Essie Williams Horne.  She was a member of Christ Community Church and was retired from the Federal Judicial System.  She volunteered at the Appling County Food Bank and Ladies Auxiliary at Appling Healthcare System.  Ms. Horne was a member of the Society of former FBI Women, Phi Beta Kappa at Norman College, the 1962 Salutatorian of Appling County High School, and a 1964 graduate of Norman College with a Business Administration Degree.

Survivors include her niece, Robin Sisco of Columbia, SC; a nephew, Doug (Missy) Hamilton of Lexington, SC; great nieces, Jessica (Chris) Moore, Jami (Nick) Watford, Hayley Hamilton and Tori Hamilton; great-great nieces, Lily Moore and Marlow Watford, and a great-great nephew, Emmett Watford, all of Lexington, SC.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church with Rev. Brad Park and Rev. Rick Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Miles Chapel Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be James Hayes, Ike Pate, Tim Varnadore, Doug Harris, Calvin Morris and Brandon Dubberly.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Christ Community Church.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Christ Community Church.
