John David Rudd

John David Rudd, age 79, of Baxley died Monday, November 29, 2021 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Mr. Rudd was born July 17, 1942 in Paducah, KY to the late William Ray Rudd and the late Imogene Brown Rudd. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and retired from AT&T. Mr. Rudd was a devoted member of Midway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and choir director for more than 50 years.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, DeAnna Rudd; daughter and son-in-law, Devin & Austin Morales of Peachtree City; son & daughter-in-law, Scott & Kathy Rudd of Mt. Vernon; sister, Jill Bugg of Symsonia, KY; brother & sister-in-law, Richard & Wanda Rudd of Marion, KY; grandchildren, Brianne (DeWayne) Jordan, Kaci Rudd, and Ayla Morales; and a great grandchild, Andrew Jordan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Benji McReady officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Todd Merrick, Louis Giansante, DeWayne Jordan, Austin Morales, Pete Howard and Ricky Bugg.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons & wives of Midway Baptist Church, JoAnn Beecher, Henrietta Hilton, Floyd & Claudine Hunter, Bobbie Beecher, Wade McDaniel, James & Helen McDaniel, Ronnie & Shirley Nelson, Bela Caldwell, Sara & David Roberts, Donald & Lorene Hunter and Kenny Stone.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Baptist Church 174 Midway Church Road, Baxley, Georgia 31513.
