Katharine "Kathy" Smith Obituary

Katharine May “Kathy” Smith, age 63 of Baxley died Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Riverside Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mrs. Smith was born January 3, 1958 in Middlebourne, WV to the late Paul Francis Straight and the late Loretta May Walker Straight. She was a member of Satilla Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kevin Smith, Sr. and a brother, James LeRoy Straight.

Survivors include her sons, Donald Keith Smith, Jr., Brady Allen Straight and William Andrew Smith; sisters, Mary Dennis and Melanie Lynn Ray; brothers, Gail (Faye) Straight and Donald Straight.

A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scottie Pitts officiating and a eulogy by Randall Odum.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
