Kay Morris Obituary

Kay Haynes Morris, age 85, of Baxley, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at South Georgia Health System Brunswick Campus.

Mrs. Morris was born January 13, 1936 in Appling County to the late Jesse Ernest Haynes and the late Ivie Evelyn Jones Haynes.  She was a devoted member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, James Carroll Morris and a son, Greg Morris. She loved her family and her flowers, especially her roses; she also loved her church and her community.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristi Graham of Brunswick; son & daughter in law, Chet & Denise Morris of Brunswick; sister, Ellen Harris of Ludowici; brother, Pat Haynes of Brunswick. Seven grandchildren, Jenny Kersey, Ben Morris, Mallory Graham, Mason Graham, Scott Morris, Nathan Morris, and Brian Morris, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Minick officiating.

Interment will follow in Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Richard Riddle, Tindle Carter, Zand Murphy, Cotton Murray, Dennis Lamb and Jerry Vaughn.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies Sr. Adult Class.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
