Larry Kersey, age 66, of Crosby, Texas died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Houston University Baytown.
Mr. Kersey was born December 27, 1954 in Appling County to the late Robert Fulton Kersey and the late Dennie Shipes Kersey. He was an electrician and worked as a General Field Superintendent with Zachry Group. He attended Carter’s Chapel Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Jonetta Kersey of Crosby, TX; daughters & son-in-law, Shannon & Brack Lastinger of Jesup and Ashley Kersey of College Station, TX; son, Michael Kersey of Jesup; sisters & brothers-in-law, Annette & Mike O’neal of Baxley, Debbie Wood (Stan Brewer) of Lumber City, and Janie & Wilbur Breedlove of Hazlehurst; brother & sister-in-law, Terry & Elaine Kersey of Lyons; grandchildren, Marlie Rae Lastinger, Sammie Lastinger, and Brody Lastinger. Several nieces & nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Kersey officiating. Interment will follow in Appling Memorial Gardens. Funeral services will be Livestreamed on Swain Funeral Home Facebook page.
Active pallbearers will be T. J. Beecher, Justin Beecher, Donnie Nash, Jr., Allen Baker, Randall McMinn, Robbie Kersey, Jr. Melton, & David Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Appling County High School Class of 1972.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.
Everyone in attendance is asked to please abide by COVID-19 precautions by wearing a mask and social distancing.
