Linda Gaye Whiten

Linda Gaye Whiten, age 79, of Charleston, South Carolina passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at her residence.

Ms. Whiten was born December 31, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late David Marvin Whiten and the late Mary Crosby Whiten. She retired from Charleston Navy Shipyard.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Whiten was preceded in death by a brother, David M. Whiten, Jr.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Sue Whiten of Dorchester, South Carolina; nephews, Christopher (Nicole) Whiten and Matthew Whiten both of Dorchester, South Carolina; cousins, Paul D. (Betty Jean) Williams of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Richie (Judy) Williams of Baxley; cousins, Kimberly (Jay) Slack and Kelly (Greg) Avery of Bossier City, Louisiana, Zandra (Stacey) Hutchinson, Cheryl (Scott) Tillery of Baxley, Rhonda (Stacey) Edwards of Hazlehurst, and Carole (Gary) Levar of Orange City, Florida. Two great nephews, Clayton and Walker Whiten also survive.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Crosby Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Daniels officiating.
