Loyal Murphy Obituary

Loyal Hardwick Murphy 70, husband to the late Connie Murphy and son of the late Ralph and Maggie Murphy, departed this life surrounded by his loving family. He will be remembered as an amazing, influential husband, daddy, grandpa, poppie, brother, uncle, friend and dedicated worker for 60 years before retiring in 2020.
Loyal loved spending time with family and friends, working, fishing and hunting. He was one of the greatest men who will be missed by many and remembered by more. A man of few words, but many expressions. His favorite sayings were, " If you're going to be dumb, you better be tough," "off your ass and on your feet," "excuses, excuses and any excuse is better than none." There will be an emptiness that will never go away with his passing.
Loyal is survived by his children: Barbara Greer, Lee (Tammie) Murphy, Albert Murphy, Ronnie (Bonnie) Murphy and Laurie (Bruce) Wirsu; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Melissa, Bridget and Lillie Garcia; Cody and Asher Murphy; Crystal (Jeremy) Heitzman; Sarah (Steven) Gregory - to whom he was like a daddy. Camri, Caroline and Carlee Murphy - to whom he was very close. Stacy (Tyler), Olivia Lee; Tracy (William), Willow Hewell; Laura (Jeremy) Cadence, Lucy and Lincoln Pollack; Joshua (Brianna), Branson and Lillian Wirsu; Tyler, Justin, Kathryne, Johnny, Ryan and Bella Wirsu; Nicholas and Macy Murphy; brother, Milton (Linda) Murphy; sisters, Latrelle (Joe) Maxwell, Sarah Varnadore, and Glenda Blocker; brother-in-law and dear friend, Billy Wyatt; nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
Funeral service will be 9AM, Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Kinsey & Walton Chapel. Interment will follow in Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 525 Zion Baptist Church Road, Surrency, GA. The family will receive friends, Friday from 5 to 7 pm at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road Augusta, GA 30906.
