Madeline Lightsey Sapp

Madeline Lightsey Sapp, age 76, of Baxley, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at her residence under the care of Bethany Hospice.

Mrs. Sapp was born October 31, 1946 in Appling County to the late Paul Cullens Lightsey and the late Ella Mae Sills Carter. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church where she serviced as a Sunday School Teacher and VBS Teacher. Mrs. Sapp was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother and was a retired seamstress at Bailey Boys.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jerome Sapp, Sr; two brothers, Lloyd Lightsey and Carlos Lightsey; and a sister, Margene Lightsey.

Survivors include her daughters, Laura Norris, Selina Carter, Emily (David) Roberson; and a son, Paul (Stormie) Sapp, Jr. Fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren also survive. 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating.

Active pallbearers are grandsons, Justin Norris, Jeremy Norris, Jordan Norris, Tyler Whitley, Preston Sapp, Lance Carter, Chase Cravey, Dylan Cravey and Phillip Sapp.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
