Mary Gazelle (Johnson) Harrison

Mary Gazelle Johnson Harrison, age 105, of Folkston, GA passed away peacefully May 9, 2021.  She was born August 19, 1915 in Folkston, GA to the late John Henry Johnson and Grace Gay Johnson.  She enjoyed being with her family, going to the mountains, the beach and playing bridge.  She was a member of the Folkston United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Folkston Jr. Women’s Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.  She was retired from the Folkston Pharmacy. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 3 sisters and a son-in-law:  Peter McNeil. 

She is survived by her children:  Patricia (Omer) McLean, Yvonne McNeil and Henri Teresa (David) Glisson; 7-grandchildren, 8-great grandchildren, 6-great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives who lovingly called her Mama Zell.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 12 at 11:00 AM in Pineview Cemetery with Pastor Steve Meguiar officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mitch McLean, Mike McLean, Caleb McLean, Joseph McLean, Jeff Morton and Dale Hooks. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Folkston United Methodist Church or the Baxley United Methodist Church.  The family would like to thank Linda Smith, Betty Waters, and Jean Collins for their loving care.  Dr. Fernando for taking extraordinary care of our mother.
