Pamela J. McDowell

Pamela J. McDowell, age 60, of Hazlehurst, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Memorial Health Meadows in Vidalia.

Ms. McDowell was born September 28, 1963 in Jeff Davis County. She was an operations clerk at Bank of Hazlehurst. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she also served as the church secretary. She was an active member of Woodmen Life Chapter 278. Ms. McDowell was preceded in death by her husband, James Ezra McDowell.

Survivors include her daughter, Jessica (Chase) Brown of Hazlehurst; son, Zachary (Wendy) McDowell of Ludowici; parents, LC & Eddie Sue Taylor of Hazlehurst; sisters, Robin (Keith) Carter and Denys (Mike) Ricketson both of Hazlehurst; brother in law, Darrell McDowell of Hazlehurst; sisters in law, Lori (Max) Drury and Glenda Knox both of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Nolan Brown, Owen Brown, Kenzie McDowell, Riley McDowell, & Piper McDowell; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Glynn Stinson and Rev. Ryan Clements officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of service.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan Carter, Austin Carter, Cole Harrell, Justin Washam, Joshua Harrell, and Kyle Knox.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Bank of Hazlehurst Annex.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
