Patricia Diane Elder

Patricia Diane Elder, age 63, of Surrency died Sunday, November 20, 2022 at her residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.

Mrs. Elder was on born May 12, 1959 in Jesup, Georgia.  She was an owner and office manager for a Car Repair Service and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Elder was preceded in death by her husband, James Harper Elder, brother, Steve Bonham, step-father, Gene Burden, step-brother, Kenny Burden and a son, Wades J. Whitley.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda K. Lartz (Jerome) Jones of Patterson; son, Wendell J. (Nashaw) Whitley of Brunswick; mother, Jackie Haddon Burden of Surrency; step-sisters, Brenda (Ralph) Morris of Rincon; step-brother, Robert Burden, (Janie McNeal) of St. Augustine, Florida. Grandchildren, Tyler Whitley, Seth Thomas, Kallista Woodcock, Kalib Woodcock, Hunter Whitley, Austin Whitley; and great grandchildren, Harper Whitley, Bailey Woodcock, Elena Woodcock and Adalynn Pittman.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Surrency City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Johnn Mancil, Jimmy Ellis, Jr., Will Ellis, Benjie Higgins, Wades Williams and Richard “Skeeter” Janousek.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Orlando V. Fernando and Comfort Care Hospice.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
