Richard Wayne Futch

Richard Wayne Futch, age 80, of Baxley passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at the Bacon County Hospital.

Mr. Futch was born April 8, 1942 in Lakeland, Florida and was a member of Sand Hill Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with J. Hiers Company, Inc. Mr. Futch was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Arlene Futch; son, John Lawrence Futch; and granddaughter, Shelly Scott.

Survivors include his children, Connie Lyn Scott of Baxley; sons, Wesley (Judy) Futch of Gerrardstown, WV and Donald A. Futch of Baxley; sister-in-law, Joyce Cochran of Baxley; grandchildren, Paul, David, Richard, Dewayne, Tristan, Hunter, Melissa, Damien, Katie, Mary Beth, and Ashley; and ten great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 2:00pm at Sand Hill Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Ferguson officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
