Roy Nail

Roy Nail, age 82, of Baxley passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup.

Mr. Nail was born December 2, 1940 in Appling County to the late Ildon Nail and the late Ruthie Carter Nail.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a retired truck driver with Bax Steel Building. He loved listening to gospel music and preaching on his radio and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Nail was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Ruth Nail, and a son, Leroy Nail.

Survivors include his daughters, Peggy (Stanley) Hickey of Jesup and Brenda (Rocky) Carter of St. Augustine, Florida. Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Justin McLellan officiating. Interment will follow in Baxley Graveyard.

Active pallbearers will be Logan Branch, Kevin Mann, Keith Stephens, Donnie Griffin, Russel Griffin, and Jason Griffin.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Altamaha Home Health.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
