Sada (Young) Petty

Sada Young Petty, age 81, of Baxley passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Memorial Health in Savannah.

Mrs. Petty was born July 22, 1940 in Appling County to the late Herman Almon Young and the late Nina Green Overstreet O’Quinn.  She was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Petty.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Sabrina & Dustin Miller of Jacksonville Beach, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann (Bobby) Jones of Baxley, Jeanne (Mike) Crews of Statesboro, and Lonnie Sanders of Baxley; one grandchild, Jakob Miller of Jacksonville Beach FL; nieces, Melanie Sauls and Lauren Darcy; nephew, Bobby Herman Jones; great niece, Jacie Black; and great nephews, Daxton Darcy and Justin Sauls.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Bryant Bishop officiating.  Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Jones, Sr., Lonnie Sanders, Bobby Herman Jones, Jason Sauls, Mike Crews and Cole Edge.

The honorary pallbearer will be Joyce Beal.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
