Sarah Brown Jones

Sarah Brown Jones, age 79, of Baxley passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at her residence under the care of Georgia Hospice.

Mrs. Jones was born August 15, 1941 to the late Rufus Clinton Brown and the late Alma Ruth McNure Brown.  She was a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.  Mrs. Jones was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loving wife of 61 years.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, David C. Brown and Harvey Brown.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Lamar Jones of Baxley; two daughters & sons in law, Lynn & Henry Crosby and Sandra Faye & Garry Mullis all of Baxley; a sister, Esther & Jimmy Spires of Sardis; brother & sister in law, James & Judy Brown of Twin City. Grandsons, Chris Mullis, Travis (Masie) Crosby and granddaughters, Ashley (Eric) Mincey and Cassandra (Stanley) Baxley and six great-grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 4:00 pm at Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. Scottie Pitts officiating.

Active Pallbearers will be Chris Mullis, Travis Crosby, Stanley Baxley, Eric Mincey, David Bryant, Wayne Crosby, Tucker Mincey and Tanner Mincey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Anna Baxley, Landon Baxley, Jasie Crosby, Jayleigh Crosby, Deryl & Kathy Everett, Satilla Baptist Senior Adult Sunday School Class, Wilda Ann Crosby, Loneta Baxley, Clifton & Marilyn Mincey, Ezra Varnadore, Jeff Herrington and all friends in attendance.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
