Sheri Lynn Shipes

Sheri Lynn Shipes, age 54, of Baxley died Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Ms. Shipes was born February 27, 1967 in Baxley. She worked in retail and attended Baxley Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Shipes; her fiancé, Otis Clyde Harrell; and a great niece, Hope Lorraine Harmon.

Survivors include her son, Grady Wymen Shipes; mother, Vinnie Hughes Shipes; brother, Danny Shipes, Sr.; nephew, Danny “Bubba” (Jessie) Shipes, Jr.; niece, Kristena Lynn Shipes; and great nieces & nephews, Harley Lee Harmon, Hunter Leif Harmon, Haleigh Lynn Harmon, Lyla Irene Shipes, and Amya Grace Shipes.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Jordan officiating.Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Spell, Michael Shipes, Samuel “Pebo” Hughes, William Newton, Andy Kersey, Thomas Hardwick, and Rex Hughes.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Harrell, Gaylon Waters, Rickey Newton, Danny Shipes, Sr., Danny Shipes, Jr., Al Kersey, and David “Chuppie” Shipes.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
