Obituary
Shirley Barnes Crosby, age 87, of Baxley passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at Appling Healthcare.
Mrs. Crosby was born August 23, 1935 in Appling County to the late Jake Barnes and the late Effie Mae Murphy Barnes and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Crosby. She was a homemaker and attended Southside Church of God.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Bonnie) Crosby and Sherry (Glenn) Crummey all of Baxley; a brother, Wilbur Barnes of Baxley; grandchildren, Shannon Simmons, Ashley (Lance) White, and Austin (Brooke) Crosby; and five great-grandchildren, Allie, Randyn, & Rhett Simmons, and Sawyer, Thatcher, and Guyver White. Two sisters-in-law, Willene Crosby and Wilda Ann Crosby also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Pastor David Deen and Pastor R. M. Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Cemetery at Satilla Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
Active pallbearers will be Randyn Simmons, Rhett Simmons, Lance White, Jerry Barnes, Robby Barnes, and Henry Crosby.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Comfort Care Hospice, Sara Smith, and Red Oak First Responders.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
