William "Clay" Allen

William “Clay” Allen, age 80, of Baxley died Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Pavilion.

Mr. Allen was born June 14, 1940 in Apex, North Carolina to the late William Glenwood Allen and the late Mary Womble Allen.  He was a member of Sand Hill Creek Church.  Mr. Allen served in the United States Army and was a retired Tom’s Distributor and a farmer. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his former wife, Bebe Orvin Allen, a brother, Carl “Bud” Allen and sister, Gaylia York.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Allen of Baxley; sons & daughters in law, Steven & Stephanie Allen and John & Miranda Allen all of Baxley; step-son & step- daughter in law, Howard & Melisha Scott of Baxley; sister, Elaine Allen of Raleigh, NC. Seven grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00 am at Omega Cemetery with Rev. Gary Page officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Hunter Allen, Dock Allen, Tony Cabiness, Tim Hipps, Justin McLellan and Andy Orvin.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends in attendance.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Sand Hill Creek Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 262, Baxley, Ga. 31515.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
