Winnifred Gray Phillips

Winnifred Gray Phillips, age 90, of Baxley passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Mrs. Phillips was born April 3, 1930 in Appling County to the late Mark Isaac Gray and the late Margie Mae Presley Gray.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Baxley where she attended the Trinity Sunday School Class and was a member of the Wesleyan Circle of the United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Phillips.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Neal Phillips and Tommy & Shirley Phillips all of Baxley; and two sisters, Betty Varnadore and Valeria Lewis both of Baxley; two granddaughters, Hailei (Jeff) Feighner and Anna Phillips; and a great grandchild, Emma Feighner; and nephews, Terrell Varnadore and Tim Varnadore both of Baxley, and Lindsey Lewis of Kennesaw.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Meguair officiating.

Remembrances may be made to the Appling County Food Bank (P.O. Box 528 Baxley, GA 31515).
